Pady O’ Connor is an actor, director, and international teacher of theatre.
Education and Training:
Commedia dell’Arte, Mask and, Comic Acting at the Scuola Internazionale Dell'Attore Comico in Italy with Maestro Antonio Fava
Mime at the Desmond Jones School of Mime and Physical Theatre in London
Clown and Le Jeu (The game and play of theatre) with Philippe Gaulier in Paris
Clown and "the gentle nature of idiocy" with Pierre Byland, Footsbarn Theatre, France
He has also attended additional courses in Mask, Clown and Bouffon with: Horse and Bamboo; Complicite; John Nicholson (Peepolykus) and; Mick barnfather.
Pady has appeared in the international theatre show "Elephant", which played at the New Victory theatre, Broadway in New York; The Market theatre of Johannesburg; the Edinburgh Fringe; Expo Festival, Saragossa Spain; and two national tours of number one theatres in England.
Nationally he has toured with one of the only outdoor Commedia dell'Arte companies in England, playing Friar Hubert and Dogwood in Chaucer's, "The Wife Of Bath", and Telemachus in Homer's "The Odyssey".
Pady has also toured nationally with his own creation, "Phileas P Souper", a collaboration with musical trio Uberloon, selling out shows across the North East in venues such as Northern Stage and the Sage, Gateshead.
Working with Flex Dance Pady plays the part of 'Pa' in the production Catywompus, which premiered at Stockton International Riverside Festival and is currently touring.

Pady has been a mentor, director and, physical theatre trainer for many companies and individual creative organisations such as: Northern Stage, the Sage Gateshead, and Live theatre. In collaboration with these companies and groups he has helped devise new ideas and, develop and direct existing work. He has also assisted in casting for the acclaimed Billy Elliot, with Tiger Aspect films.
His directing work has attracted the attention of many directors such as: Mike Shepherd, founder of Kneehigh Theatre in Cornwall; John Retallack, Company of Angels and; Guti Fraga, founder of Nos de Morro Theatre company in Rio de Janeiro.

A huge part of Pady's work philosophy has been about nurturing and sharing the skills that he has learnt through his training and performing.
He has worked with and directed young people and adults with mixed abilities and autism alongside artists and practitioners regionally, nationally and internationally, maintaining links with performers and companies in Africa, France, Spain, New York and, Brazil.
Pady is one of TIN Arts' eight Clown Doctors, leading a program bringing pleasure and play to families and young people in North East hospitals.
In collaboration with companies and organisations such as: Live Youth Theatre, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, the Sage Gateshead, TIN Arts and, schools, colleges and universities nationally, Pady has fused together Physical theatre, Commedia dell'Arte, Mask, Clown and, Puppetry, to create theatre performances and workshops that have been part of changing people's lives.
